Two things can be true. One, this is how I feel about my mental illness. Two, this is my way of navigating through my panic attacks. Over the years I have taught myself that I can break any thing down into two manageable steps, no matter how small. Still easier sad than done.

About a year ago I woke up in the back of the ambulance, as a result of a gnarly bicycle accident. I had a scary brain injury and shattered my right middle finger. While on my journey of recovery, I had break up almost every daily task into two steps. This went on for a few months, until one day I realized I didn’t need to “1,2” to brush my teeth! Seems small, but this was a huge victory for me!! After a lot of long tough days, my mind is feeling as good as it’s ever been, and my finger has some extra personality;)
