Project based on the screenplay of 'Shallow Grave'.
The screenplay is about 3 friends/flatmates getting corrupted and alienating from each other due to finding a suitcase full of money. I tried to incorporate that idea into my design.
My thought was that, while the film gets 'darker' in the sense of the people getting more moody and 'stranger' to each other, I would make the actual shots of the film a lot brighter. The idea came of pictures from mental institutes and that everything there is really bright and white.
This is achieved by lighting variations, as well as removing gradually personal items of the flatmates and any colored props from the communal areas.
