The innovative newsstand Quotidiana turns the neighborhood life upside down with a new urban farming service: QFarm.
Its function is both to promote the service of urban farming and to introduce people to innovative and sustainable methods in the use of water, energy production and air purification through a phygital experience.
The installation consists of a Central Pavilion that sponsors the QFarm service and three other pavilions: Air, Water and Light.
The etfe material, in some cases transparent and in others black, is used in all pavilions.
The Central Pavilion aims to promulgate the QFarm service and to make known the possibility of cultivating in the city center through the innovative cultivation of hydroponic system.
People can buy QFarm products in the Bio-market.
The Air Pavilion is characterized by glass bioreactors inside which algae purify the air by absorbing CO2.
The Water Pavilion is characterized by a circular waterfall to enhance the purification process.
Two interactive contact panels are installed on the sides of the pavilion. In the first panel, through the use of any tool wet by water, is possible to leave a mark, displayed on the wall itself by a bright graffiti. In the second panel, at the touch of the surface, bright and animated gifs are activated informing about water waste in cities.
In the Light Pavilion there is a dance floor that creates energy thanks to the movement of people on it. The energy produced, in addition to supporting the event itself, is used for plant growth in the Central Pavilion.
