Uma intervenção gráfica no espaço público sobre o tema Racismo.
É difícil abordar problemas desta dimensão de uma forma não repetitiva. Por serem universais e se terem manifestado há imensas gerações, o racismo e a xenofobia são conceitos familiares, assim como toda a produção gráfica associada. Daí o facto de criar uma intervenção urbana que não seja influenciada por todas as que já existem ser uma tarefa difícil.
Foram definidos os conceitos-chave principais do projeto (identidade, individualidade, reflexão, industrialização, preconceito), após uma pesquisa que demonstrou que a maioria dos objetos gráficos tinham um conceito em comum:
a humanização das personagens representadas, recorrendo à sua individualidade.
O primeiro passo na realização deste projeto foi a procura de personalidades que representassem 4 etnias. Para além da sua etnia ou tom de pele, todas estas pessoas são relevantes e ficarão para a história.
Angela Davis foi uma ativista afro-americana que lutou contra o racismo e a xenofobia, defendendo a educação para acabar com o racismo sistémico.
Eagle Eyes (Olhos de Águia) foi um nativo americano cuja cultura tinha e tem sido recorrentemente ameaçada. Defendeu
o seu tipo de vida nómada e lutou contra a conversão do seu povo a outras religiões e costumes, bem como contra
a desflorestação do território natural.
Wang Xiaoli foi uma de muitas mulheres a lutar contra a opressão dos costumes tradicionais asiáticos (mais concretamente chineses), como forma de erradicar a sua cultura, uma vez que consideravam que impedia o avanço e reconhecimento do
seu país.
Donald Trump foi presidente dos Estados Unidos da América, e é um empresário de sucesso, que lutou sobretudo contra a liberdade de expressão, incentivando o ódio, o preconceito e o racismo.
O objetivo foi retirar a individualidade destas pessoas e substituí-la pelo preconceito associado à sua etnia, de forma a desumanizá-las e torná-las num simples código de barras, reflexo da industrialização, aqui associado às ideias “fabricadas”
e ao racismo.

A graphic intervention in the public space on the topic of Racism.
It's specially hard to approach problems of this dimension in a non-repetitive way. Because they're universal and have been around for generations, racism and xenophobia are familiar concepts, as all associated graphic production. Hence the fact that creating an urban intervention that's not influenced by all those that already exist is a difficult task.
The main key concepts of the project were defined (identity, individuality, reflection, industrialization, prejudice), after a survey that showed that most graphic objects had a concept in common: the humanization of the characters represented, resorting to their individuality.

The objective was to remove the individuality of these people and replace it with the prejudice associated with their ethnicity, in order to dehumanize them and turn them into a simple bar code, a reflection of industrialization, here associated with “fabricated” ideas and racism.
