JOY SAKE: traditional Japanese sake
One of the best traditional Japanese pastimes is drinking sake. A necessary household item is JOY SAKE. This product wants to be the modest bottle in your cabinet that is savored for special occasions. It is an alcoholic beverage derived from rice that is deeply ingrained in the culture of many people.

Role: Brand Design + Art Direction
Year: 2022
The Challenge

I was given the challenge of designing the label for the Japanese sake JOY SAKE. Other than keeping it clean and conveying a sense of tranquility, there were no precise guidelines or needs. Create a stimulus that would elicit a positive, well-balanced emotional response.
The Solution

The brand's initial point of inspiration and art direction would be the simple Zen design that is so closely related to the Japanese minimalist aesthetic. Concentrating on getting rid of any extraneous decorations or frills, allowing limitless beauty and abundance to arise from less rather than more. Making supplementary illustrations that are analogous to the Japanese Sake. Rice is the primary ingredient used in the production of this product, and Mount Fuji, the second-highest volcano in the world and an island in Asia, completes the circle for the identity of the brand.
