Loss and Damage WIM Report Card

Practical Action has contracted researchers at UCL to conduct a review of the performance of the Warsaw International Mechanism on Loss and Damage, in order to assess the WIM’s efforts toward achieving the objectives set out in its work plan(s).

The purpose of the ‘WIM Report Card’ Campaign is to use the findings of this review to draw attention to the WIM’s responsibility in taking action on loss and damage and highlight gaps in its performance.

The WIM Report Card Campaign will produce a series of ‘school report card’-themed reports and actions to summarize and communicate the UCL report from a civil society perspective. The Campaign will then seek to socialize the report cards to the public and key decision-makers within the UNFCCC.

The Campaign will comprise the following activities:

Report Card Written & Graphic Materials: Translating the workshop findings into two main reports. One main Report Card report (5-10 pages), with one full page summary per WIM focus area, plus general framing and conclusions. Additionally, a summary infographic type brief (1-2 pages), with the main takeaways. In addition, creating supportive graphics for social media with main takeaways that are easily understood by the public.
