A Perfect Day for Caribou Poster

A PERFECT DAY FOR CARIBOU POSTER
Poster design for A Perfect Day for Caribou, a new independent film with a world premiere on August 6th at the 75th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. The film takes place in the late 1990’s in the middle of nowhere. It stars Jeb Berrier and Charlie Plummer as an estranged father and son spending a single day together.

Final poster design, which reflects feelings and themes throughout the film.
Rough sketches from the initial exploration. These were inspired by scenes and objects throughout the film. The bottom middle concept was a potential direction of making the poster a paint-by-number style, which is mentioned in the film. We decided this would make the poster too busy and went in a more minimal direction.
Illustration details, based on the main two characters of the film.
Rough sketches from the title treatment exploration. We wanted something a bit loose/wonky
and not like what you would typically see on a film poster. A majority of these
were inspired by old French advertisements.
Final title treatment, which is a bit more refined than we had originally planned, but still
retains the hand-drawn look and feel that we wanted.

Special thanks to writer and director, Jeff Rutherford, for trusting me with this project.
