ECOLOGICAL SETTLEMENT

"Humanization of the architectural environment in the structure of the city"

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
A high concentration of man-made objects contributes to environmental pollution and reduces the quality of life. According to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the real state of health of modern Ukrainian society is rather disappointing, if only because almost 90% of young people have deviations in their state of health, and more than 50% have unsatisfactory physical training.

For the purposes of humanizing the urban environment, it is necessary to consider the main areas of improvement of the formation: 
– transport and pedestrian infrastructure; 
– infrastructure of the city center; 
– the infrastructure of the residential environment; 
– the infrastructure of the industrial environment; 
– the infrastructure of landscape and recreational facilities.

The humanization of the individual living environment reflects the desire of each family to organize its life activities with the maximum realization of its value orientation, professional interests, traditions and habits in a harmonious combination with the surrounding society, buildings and natural environment.
PRE-PROJECT ANALYSIS
The designed environment for an ecological settlement is located not far from the center of the city of Ternopil and the village of white In the development of this district there are private sectors, buildings no higher than the third floor. The "Water Arena Ternopil" sports complex is also nearby.
PROJECT CONCEPT
The main idea of the development is to create an arc-shaped configuration of houses that form private courtyard spaces, preserves the view of the apartments on the Seret River, and closes the space from adverse climatic factors. The project consists in making a maximally functional space for residents and visitors of certain functions of the ecological settlement. It is assumed that the public space will be used not only by the residents of the building, but also by all residents of Ternopil. This should reduce social inequality.
GENERAL PLAN
The functional and planning structure of the designed ecological settlement corresponds to the increased professional level of the residential area and consists of separate functional blocks of the internal exploited space.

That is, this is a residential area: two mid-rise buildings, one-room, two-room, three- and four-room apartments and 6 groups of townhouses. The second block includes sports courts for volleyball, basketball, tennis and running, as well as seats for spectators. In one of the buildings of medium-rise housing there is a conference hall and a restaurant, it has a separate entrance and 5 parking spaces for trucks and unloading and loading products.
The majority of the restaurant's produce will come from the greenhouses located in the south of the site. Each of the residents can engage in agronomy for their own use or for sale.

Inside the middle-floor housing there are playgrounds for children of different ages, maximally protected from various dangerous factors. At the edges of the plot (in the most remote areas from the dwelling) there are wind generators for self-supply of energy. There is also a parking space with solar panels to the east, one of the ideas of the project is a closed yard from cars. There is an underground parking lot (under the restaurant) for residents of the ecological settlement.
PLANNING
The residential group consists of medium-floor housing, corridor type and townhouses.

Mid-rise housing is two buildings with three blocks: Block I and II - residential, Block III - restaurant and conference halls. The building contains from 3 to 5 floors, each has 1 main entrance and 2 evacuation doors. On each residential floor, spacious halls are provided for joint spending of time by all residents of the building. 

The corridors are equipped with vertical landscaping for greater comfort, the main stairwell with elevators. And also 4 evacuation stairs with elevators.
ARCHITECTURAL EXPLOSION
The total number of apartments in two medium-rise buildings is:
- 36 – one-room apartments; -34 – two-room apartments; - 66 – three-room apartments; 16 - four-room apartments.

CONSTRUCTIVE SOLUTION
The structural scheme of the wooden frame is used as the basis of the three-dimensional solution of the building. The advantages of this system are the possibility of replanning apartments, transforming them with the increase in the number of family members, as well as wood is an environmentally friendly renewable material. Internal partitions are made of brick and gas blocks. Window openings are filled with double-glazed windows, in an aluminum frame with darkened sun-protective coating. It is necessary to note the special importance of functionality in the design solution of this project and ease of use.
The construction of the "green roof" consists of: supporting structure, vapor barrier, thermal insulation, waterproofing layer, leveling screed, waterproofing, membranes, geotextile, gravel, geotextile, plant soil and landscaping.
The facade is lined with decorative columns with silent wind generators that will provide the residents of the building with energy.
Moisture (fog and rain) is collected from pitched roofs, wind turbines and heat pumps are used. Due to greening of roofs and vertical trusses, continuous greening is carried out.
