Nolan King's profile

Nat Geo Rebrand

This project was given as a rebranding of an existing company, but instead of completely re-envisioning National Geographic, I created a subsidiary using the shortened Nat Geo name. Nat Geo is designed to be more modern, aiming towards an audience that hasn't grown up with magazines so much as TV shows and internet. With this in mind, Nat Geo would offer more in the way of movies and documentaries to show its amazing image capturing capabilities. It has the same ideas in mind regarding nature and adventure, but adds a more extreme sporting feel to it. Big influences for direction were the XGames and Red Bull New Media House. Parts of the project include an invitation package to the Press Event, Press Event Booklet, snipet of a web presence, and a short motion graphic commercial.
Booklet outlining the reasoning and changes for Nat Geo.  http://issuu.com/nolanking/docs/brochure
