Das Triadische Ballett - Redesign

La Salle College, Art History II - The idea for this project was to recreate Oskar Schlemmer's Triadic Ballet as if it were performed by a ballet company in this time, taking into account modern element as well as the characteristics of the Bauhaus period in which this ballet was conceived, and designing a poster to go along with it.

The main concept was to take the most important aspects of ballet's aesthetic - abstract movement and color - and to use them as a base for designing the pieces. The ballet was divided in three movements: yellow - the cheerful one, pink - the romantic one, and black - the mysterious one.

I wanted to take inspiration from Schlemmer himself, looking at shapes and movements rather than the dancers, which is why the emphasis is on the motion and not on the faces of the ballerinas.
