Ce circuit patrimonial nous entraine au début des années 1920. Période durant laquelle la prohibition s’étend à l’ensemble du Canada et des États-Unis. Et dans ce désert parsemé de dry states, le Québec fait office de sanctuaire où l’achat et la consommation d’alcool demeurent tout à fait légal. Une oasis juridique, à partir de laquelle, de 1919 à 1923, La région de Brome-Missisquoi sera, durant cette période, une plaque tournante de traffic d'alcool, ou proliférera contrebandiers, bars clandestins, bordels et whiskey’s lounges.

Ce projet s'articule, entre autre, autour des récits de Conrad Labelle, contrebandier et complice d'Al Capone, de Queen Lil, tenancière du bordel «The palace of Sin» situé pile entre le Canada et les États-Unis et de miradors installés au dessus de granges remplies d'alcool.

Les panneaux d'interprétations, parsemés dans la région, sont tous munis de code QR qui renvoient à des balado et des compléments historiques.

This heritage tour takes us to the early 1920s, a period during which prohibition extended to all of Canada and the United States. And in this desert dotted with dry states, Quebec acts as a sanctuary where the purchase and consumption of alcohol remain completely legal. A legal oasis, which, from 1919 to 1923, the Brome-Missisquoi region will be, during this period, a hub of alcohol trafficking, where smugglers, clandestine bars, brothels and gin-dives will proliferate.

This project revolves, among other things, around the stories of Conrad Labelle, smuggler and accomplice of Al Capone, Queen Lil, owner of the brothel "The Palace of Sin" located right between Canada and the United States and watchtowers installed above barns filled with alcohol.
