Ilios. The city and country of the Trojans
One of the most legendary archeological discoveries made by Henry Schliemann is described in this book. Excavations of Troy, its' treasures and myths around this place even in 150 years are thrilling and famous among professional community and amateurs.
Publication is supplemented by quotes from Homer's "Iliad", which was a key source during Schliemann's searchings. Different number of blue lines of poem with markers on the edge of page create dynamic rhythm on every spread.
Footnotes of map are included to basic layout to improve navigation.
Multiple citations of ancient scholars are put to the end of the book and have cross-links to basic text.
The 5th chapter is dedicated to 7 historical cities of Troy and artefacts that were found. Different text structure caused creation of different layout.

The scale of depth is also used on the cover together with page markers for every city. So the earlier is the city, the "deeper" is the marker.
Small pictograms for every illustration were created to connect description in text with engraved artefact.
Some engravings in text are based on original Schliemann's photographies, so it was great to link both types of images to each other.
Therefore album became not just a spectacular collection of pictures but also a functional layer.
