Horta | infographics + graphic design

For this project, I was asked to design a set of graphic elements to complement an existing product — the "Horta, agricultura na varanda" — a system of pots that allows anyone to grow food at home. In addition to the logo and stationary, it was created an instruction manual with infographics and step-by-step drawings.
Concept and moodboard
Horta (Portuguese for "vegetable home garden") stands up for urban and domestic agriculture as a different way to connect with one of our basic needs — food. It believes that when we grow our own food, we learn about its origin and nature's cycles, raising awareness of sustainability and waste.
The name wants to be familiar and reflects the pride of those who cultivate their own garden.

The urban farmer guide
It was needed to sell the Horta's equipment with an instructional manual for assembly and use, and also a calendar with the growing and harvesting times of some vegetables.

In response, I designed an A6 booklet, which includes schematic drawings to explain the installation of the Horta, the semi-automatic irrigation system and some farming tips and advice.
By completely unfolding the guide, we have the "Horta's calendar" on the back: an infographic representing the best months to sow, transplant and harvest 18 of the various vegetables that can be grown on a balcony.
A set of digital stickers was also created, which can be used by the farmers when they share photos of the results of their urban gardens on social media
Finally, here are some examples of how the designed elements can be used to publicize the brand.
