POLYKAT
Polykat is modernized steamer, the ideas came from bamboo steamer or also known as Klakat in Indonesia. Klakat often to be used as steamer and serve some steamed food such as Siomay, Dim Sum, Batagor, and etc.
This project was born as my final project for aesthetic course's. There's no limitation for budget, and there's no regulation about material, so that we can use any material as much as we needed.
STYLING
Polykat's design form inspiration came from traditional bamboo steamer. From old bamboo steamer we daring ourself to redesign it into something fresh and modern. We modernize the old-fashioned bamboo steamer using low polygonal shape styling and combined with parametric style.
COLORS
Polykat's color is using bright color, that is cream white. We choose white cream is because white is a representative of cleaness, minimalist, elegant so we think it's the perfect color for this prototype project.
MATERIAL
Polykat was build using 3D printing method. The material itself is using Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene or commonly known as ABS plastic. The filament was heated and printed using 0.2 thickness from the 3D printer's nozzle.
