Project Name: Fuzzy Farmer
Description: You are to collect a given number of a type of "fuzzy" within a time limit.
Tools Used: Unreal Engine 4
Highlighted Skills: HUD, win/lose condition, interactive menu
How would you describe the process of creating and polishing the artifact?
This project was for GAM 303, we were given a list of prompts and I chose this prompt to make a game. The process was simple as it was the first full project that I created using Unreal Engine 4. While polishing I have added more types of "fuzzies" to capture, which are capable of flying, and digging, where as the white and red "fuzzies" are the same in everything except movement speed.

What did you learn as you were creating it and improving it?
I learned a lot about collision boxes while creating this project. At first I had the collision box for the fuzzies larger in order for the player to capture the fuzzies from further away. However, I learned that having a large hitbox was causing issues with the fuzzies not being able to be collected, so I make the collision boxes smaller to more accurately only cover the fuzzies and that got rid of the problem entirely.

What challenges did you face?
The first challenge was creating a HUD that was able to keep track of how many fuzzies the player had captured, but that turned out to be pretty easy to do. However there were 2 challenges that I am still working on with this project. One being that I would like to as the player for the amount of fuzzy they would like to capture in the timelimit, but any way I try to get that input, it is not able to be sent over from the widget input to the character/level blueprint to set that number of fuzzies needed. Next is a challenge with blue fuzzies which are able to fly, I am having problems finding a way to prevent the blue fuzzies from "flying" through the ground.

How was the artifact improved?
I improved the artifact by getting the artifact working as intended and adding more fuzzy options, however there are still some issues with the new fuzzy types.
