A House and a Half: rehabilitation and interior design of a traditional house in Muros.
This traditional house of rectangular plan is intended to be expanded to meet the requirements of nowadays domestic space. Also, a garage is needed. Thus, the formal operation of both additions requires maximum care and respect for the original composition of the building. A "half-house" is added to the original house in the south facade, preserving the pitched roof and playing with the openings and materiality of three remaining facades. The formal operation results in a reinterpretation of the traditional galician house in the small village of Muros (Spain).
