The artwork was inspired by the fibonacci sequence, also known as the "golden ratio." I created the pattern in Adobe Illustrator by repeating a triangle element and scaling it down in rough proportions to the golden ratio.
Once the triangles formed a square pattern, I began layering them.

The "5" is a deliberately subtle touch.
