The Black Nazarene
Locally known as Itim na Nazareno, the religious figure depicts the passion of Jesus Christ on His way to Calvary. Nazareno is situated at the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, Manila. During the ninth day of January, the feast of the figure is celebrated. In commemoration, an anticipated procession is conducted annually. The procession is named Traslacion, which means the transfer of the Image of the Black Nazarene.

Throughout history, many people have testified that the Black Nazarene has enabled them to experience miracles and breakthroughs in their lives. This is why millions of devotees flock to the streets of Quiapo, Manila, on January 9, hoping to touch or wipe their white cloth on the Black Nazarene.​​​​​​​The devotees have to endure the scorching heat of the sun, fatigue, and a fast from food and water for over 20 hours while also walking 4.3 miles.The barefoot procession is a mark of the immense devotion and faith of the Filipino people in God.
