Rembrandt dental products are high-end consumer health goods, that appeal to a more affluent market which studies show are more likely to read long ad copy. These are the conceptual proofs before the product photography session. Images were later digitally manipulated to the desired shapes. I wrote and conceived these, but never got final copies of the print version, even though I got to watch the digital imaging of the product shots, they looked great!
While developing a new mouth rinse, our scientists kept to only one rule. No alcohol until after five.

BODY: The next time you rinse with your favorite mouthwash, take a closer look at the label on the front. Hold the bottle up next to you in the mirror and consider that up to one fourth of its contents is alcohol.

Ever wonder why there's so much alcohol in there? So did we.

We assumed that possibly alcohol was used because of its low cost. Then again, maybe tradition deserves the blame, after all, hasn't mouthwash always had alcohol? This could be why many users mistakenly believe that a rinse doesn't work unless it has a medicinal sting and aftertaste. And perhaps this is why many more sadly choose not to rinse at all.

To find the answers to these questions, we undertook a clinical study at a major university (find out the name) to test Rembrandt's nonalcoholic, anti-microbial formula against the leading brands. These tests proved Rembrandt Mouth Refreshing Rinse to be just as effective as the major national brands, some which had alcohol contents as high as 27%.

We also discovered that Rembrandt's ability to inhibit microbial growth (which can lead to gingivitis and gum disease), was significantly higher than other brands using a non-alcohol formula.

And how was this news received by the dental profession?

Enthusiastically. It is now recommended by over 50,000 practicing dentists as an excellent addition to a complete oral care regimen of daily brushing, flossing and regular check ups. And because it works without having to rely on harsh ingredients that leave a bitter and unpleasant aftertaste, Rembrandt is pleasant enough to safely use every day.

There is still something more convincing than advertising. Science.

BODY: You brush your teeth because you love them. But if you're using the typical toothpaste, you're brushing them away. And that's something | they won't tell you in the leading brand ads.

In the quest for cleaner, brighter smiles, many toothpaste companies have gone to extreme lengths. Like using harsh abrasives that tear through the dentine and cause damage to the enamel and root systems. And that's nothing to smile about.

Most national brands use large abrasive particles, some as large as .102 of a micron. While that may not seem like much in the cosmic scale of things, to your teeth it's a world of difference.

That's why Rembrandt is unique.

Designed by working dentists, Rembrandt was created as a final polish for professional dental restorations. The key to its success is a mild alumina polishing agent and natural proteolytic enzymes that selectively attacks collagen, the stubborn component of plaque and tartar that if left unattended causes gingivitis and other gum diseases.

With Rembrandt, your teeth are safely whitened, leaving them with a fine luster, a smoothness you can feel, and it does all this without the need for special pre-brushing rinses. And not only does it make your teeth healthier, it helps them feel healthier, and that's definitely something to smile about.

A toothbrush cannot reach every little crevice in your mouth. Fortunately, our researchers can.

BODY: The average human mouth contains over .75 square feet of surface area, a tough task for a toothbrush with just .5 square inches to cover completely and effectively. And as hard as you may try, there are just some areas that your toothbrush can't reach, leaving trapped food particles that can cause tooth decay and bad breath.

To solve this problem, researchers from around the world have long sought new solutions and insights, trying everything from harsh abrasives to acidic baking soda formulations, all in the name of brighter teeth and fresher breath. Little did they know that the answer has been there all along.

Carbamide peroxide.

Long used in dentist-monitored bleaching systems, carbamide peroxide is now available in Rembrandt's Brushing Gel; but in a lower concentration safe enough for everyday use. And because Rembrandt's Brushing Gel is a non abrasive formula, you can fight tartar and strip away plaque without stripping away vital surface properties on the surface of your teeth, which in turn leaves them rough, course and susceptible to decay.

In addition, Rembrandt Brushing Gel's 3 % peroxide solution leaves your breath fresh and clean, unlike flossing alone. Perhaps that's why it's dispensed by over 40,000 dentists worldwide as the perfect addition to a healthy oral care regimen of daily brushing, flossing and regular dental check ups.
