Meet Jupiter, a light fixture constructed out of triplex, polystyrene and aluminium. The frame consists out of 2 main parts that perpendicularly slide into each other. The design is built around the shape of the lightbulb, being minimal and rounded helps it fit in most interiors.
Jupiter is designed with functionality in mind. A cleverly hidden hinge in one of the plates gives it the possibility to fold open and exchange the lightbulb without having to deconstruct the lamp. A locking pin located at the top keeps everything in place when in use.
The construction process is a combination of laser cutting the triplex, cutting the polystyrene and aluminium. The triplex acts as the main frame while the polystyrene keeps its mechanism and cable hidden.
