Twitch Streaming Project
Streaming is something that's been on and off my mind. I'd always wanted to try out Vtubing, since it felt like another medium of vlogging since I have been doing a lot of travel vlogging when I was travelling. It all started to become a project when I noticed afew of my members on our discord server expressing interest to try out but didn't know or have the courage to.

So as the owner of our discord community server, I decided to spearhead this whole streaming project, as I wanted to show my members that it is not difficult to stream, and we can get started with a very simple set up. So after figuring out VRoid studio and Vseeface (which both are freeware), I'm off to start my journey on OBS.

It felt like streaming is very different compared to vlogging. Even though I'm perhaps considered less camera shy than average. Maybe it's because when I'm streaming everything is happening live, and there is this extra vulnerability there that I find uncomfortable.
I wasn't very comfortable with streaming at first, especially when I was going to click the start streaming button. I was very caught up with thoughts like if there's going to be any audience, how should I act, and so forth.

It was a journey of course, as I pushed myself to stream every single day. Yes, every single day, since December 11, for 3 months I had been streaming, creating content, and engaging the audience. Over time I begin to shape the type of content as well. From simply just playing games, I venture into chats and even challenged myself to do my podcast recording session live.

At the end of the day, I fell in love with streaming. It's funny how I started and picked this up so that I could guide and help fellow gaming members get started with streaming, but only to have fallen in love with streaming myself. I enjoy meeting people, engaging the audience, having my own personal space where I could express myself, hosting sessions and creating a space for kindred spirits to open up to share and learn alongside each other.

I'd learned quite a lot in these 3 months, from being less awkward and more comfortable on stream, I also tend to let my natural personality shine. It was through all these that I meet the audiences who are really there for me and with me in the long run. I feel that there's always this cycle of, who we are reflecting the type of content we make, and in turn, attracting the type of audiences we want.

I also learn to create my very own emotes and subscriber badges!

From being mostly just gaming-centric, I make some adjustments, to mental health and personal journey podcast recording, to doing art and adding some occasional party gaming sessions to keep things light.

However, with a heavy heart I have to make some drastic changes in my schedule and my life as I have to get things settled. My personal life took a toll with the hours, and moreover, as I got better physically, I'm back to working on the grounds (I'm a realtor), so gone are the days where I could do 16 hours stream.
With that, I concluded my streaming journey by inspiring a lot more than I thought who'd got started, and some even went on to grow and form their own communities, which I'm happy for. I always wanted to share and tell stories, to inspire people to get out of their comfort zone, and I'm glad that we manage to get so many out of their boundaries. I also found myself being more comfortable and better at streaming, being more natural, more shameless (or camera shy) and my hosting skills also improved as I host podcast/gaming sessions.
