The poster harks back to the Soviet space propaganda posters of the late 1950's, at a time when the Russians led the space race, having sent satellites, dogs, and humans into space, with the ultimate aim of being the first to land on the Moon. The design mixes vector illustration and photomontage, with an aged look reflecting the time since their achievements.
From the original design, I also created a black and white version, where I focused on placing a much stronger emphasis on the scene, but also reflects an era with a distinct lack of colour televisions!
