Collaboration & Professional Associations-Sasana Kijang

Sasana Kijang is the realization of Bank Negara Malaysia's aspiration to establish a centre of excellence in knowledge and learning in central banking and financial services. Sasana Kijang embodies the Bank's continuous drive for talent development through effective learning initiatives as well as creating the right environment to promote innovation and best practices in central banking.

It is a nexus for collaboration for central banks in the region via structured programmes and high level seminars. These are opportunities for thought leaders and eminent personalities and delegates from central banks to network, exchange views and share experiences to be better positioned in meeting future challenges.

This is also shared by the Bank's strategic partners, the South East Asian Central Banks (SEACEN) Research and Training Centre and the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB). Their new corporate address in Sasana Kijang will help accelerate greater collaboration amongst central banks in the region, and the Islamic Finance community internationally.
Sasana Kijang also supports the strategic initiatives of Bank Negara Malaysia, which include strengthening its regional presence and positioning Malaysia as the International Islamic Financial Centre (MIFC).

During my final year of my degree, there's one module which required us to collaborate with Bank Negara Malaysia to produce design for them and gain experience of working for others at the same time. Much of research has been done on this gallery in order for us to understand the story behind it so that we can target accurately on our target audience. We've been brought to tour around the gallery by the person in charge and we visit once every fortnight to show our progress of work to our respective mentor.

As for my elements of design, i chose to based on the bartering system that has been using in the older days of Malaya. Spices and textile are the main things to exchange goods they want. Hence, i'll be focusing on the spices and blend it into my design to track back the history of bartering which you'll not able to see it in the modern days now. My target audience is highschool students age ranges from 13 to 18 yrs old.

I've to come up with minimum 3 items for the museum which are postcard, bookmarks and notebook.
