My vision of femininity, feminism, and female confidence is full of colour.

These paintings build upon the idea that showing skin isn't always a sign of self deprecation. After all, we are all born naked. The human body should not inspire shame. The human body, arms, legs, hips, breasts and all, is a tool through which a woman projects her character. It is a vehicle for her mind, her voice and her vision. The display of skin can be a display of affection for oneself, a display of self awareness and pride, both a second nature expression of self-love and a colourful celebration of personality and spirit.  Although in the corporate controlled landscape of popular culture it seems difficult to celebrate the allure of a woman's body without some form of guilty aftertaste. Too often sensuality is exploited as a weakness to sell the "one size should fit all" mould of beauty. Too often she is squeezed, flattened, crammed and amputated to fit that mould. But sensuality is claustrophobic.  She requires freedom. She demands respect. She will revel in your attention, but she will use the moment you spend staring and judging her to make you regret thinking she has nothing intelligent to say

Hand on hips, playing with her tousled curls, or clenched in a fist, she is bold and she is unique. She bares her flesh in playfully sarcastic and risqué ways that leave as much to the imagination as you are brave enough and willing to imagine.
