My vision of femininity, feminism, and female confidence is full of colour.

These paintings take inspiration from the mixture of modernity and technology with the raw, natural, resources of the wild; the vibrant glow of neon lights in the city juxtaposed with the soft fur torn off a majestic creature's back. Stitched inside a puffer jacket, wrapped around the head, hung from the shoulders and dangled as the posh upper half of a longer coat, tailored into pants cut above the knee, fixed to cuffs, to gloves, to boots, and died to look alien.... the fur has lost its natural state to become the woman's second skin. She wears it in proclamation of her superiority to nature, her proud stance a rebellion against the oppressive  limitations of her own body. She cannot choose the colour, the texture, the design of the skin with which she was born. But self conscious insecurity has taught her that she can take advantage of the transformative nature of fashion, label it as self expression, and claim revenge.

She is a warrior, a chameleon, an artist, a woman who takes what she wants and who fears no one. As life blends into the liquid-crystal display horizon of a future both stylish and uncertain, in her characteristic armour, she is ready.
