A New Formation is an exploration of the unique role that Black British footballers have played in shaping the beautiful game both on and off the pitch, an inventive and highly original analysis of the intersections between football and wider Black British culture.

For the launch of the campaign the team wanted to create a trailer that portrayed the vibrancy and nuance of contemporary Black life in Britain and portray the essence of a book that tells new stories, forgotten stories, undervalued stories, and does so with heart and humanity and humour.

I worked on the trailer from concept to completion, sourcing images, music, footage and curating typography, before editing together the final cut. I resized to go across the Merky Books social channels before carrying the trailers style across other aspects of the campaign such as social stills and large format out of home designs.
