I started off with creating a blue base, color blocking to ensure that I could separate the necessary elements of the face, neck and shoulder area. I then went in with darker tones first to get some of the shadow, using primarily any paintbrush-esque brush I could find for texture. I then did the same with the highlights, and used the smudge tool to mud up the colors together and better blend them. I sometimes went back in with the paintbrush tool to add some additional texture if I felt it was too flat. After that, I used the spray paint tool with light opacity to add additional texture to some of the highlights on her skin. I used a harsher brush to make the outline of her nose, lips, eyes and eyebrows dark and stand out texture-wise in comparison to the other colors used. To end it all off I used a "spatter" brush to create some of the darker flecks of color seen near the bottom part of the canvas in order to recreate the texture of pores on skin.
