The Divine Reminders

The Divine Reminders
The Bible is rich with lessons that I learned to apply in my daily life and during times of confusion and hardships. Whenever I feel upset or I can't go on with anything else, I read. I started with the Gospel of John; so far, the books I've read fully are John, Matthew, Ecclesiastes, 2 Corinthians, and Song of Songs. Divine Reminders consists of my take in illustrating some of the verses that are close to my heart. :-)
Psalm 27:14
"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
Matthew 5:14-16
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father."
1 Corinthians 13:1-3

"If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing."
Matthew 6:26-30

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns,
and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire,
will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?"
John 4:13-14

"Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,
but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.
Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
Isaiah 43:2

“When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown.”
Psalm 126:4-6

"Restore our fortunes, Lord, like streams in the Negev
Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.
Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them."
Psalm 139:14

“I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

(This one was made for a friend, Kash!) :-)
2 Corinthians 12:7-9

"...or because of these surpassingly great revelations.
Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited,
I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.
Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.
But he said to me,“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses,
so that Christ’s power may rest on me."
