A Typographic Reader: the Crystal Goblet and the Evolution of Chromatic Type

January - February 2020
This project is about binding a booklet that includes the fundamental Crystal Goblet and an article of my choice, the Evolution of Chromatic Type. I chose this article because I usually work with colours and I wanted to convey how printing letters in colours was invented.

Learning about book layout and composition through the Crystal Goblet is a essential. However, reading texts on a traditional black an white layout could be tedious for some audiences. So introducing this article is to introduce colours to the reading flow.
To make the book cover, I first designed it on Adobe Indesign then laser cut it on coloured paper. Before binding everything together, I embossed the laser-cut letters to give the booklet a sense of uniqueness.

The cover of both booklets were designed (re-designed) for the purpose of bookbinding both articles as a whole "new" article.
