Transport for NSW engaged rk-d to transform a section of its office space within Sydney Central Station. The project would involve an extensive restoration of its heritage interiors.
Key goals for the project included future proofing this section of the building, lowering energy consumption and creating a workplace that would attract “best-in-class” employees.
We envisaged removing a lay-in grid ceiling to expose an existing period ceiling and changing the existing lighting from fluorescent to direct/ indirect LED which would improve occupant comfort and lower ongoing building costs.
