Papervision

For a graphic design exhibition in Shanghai, China, I created these two red envelopes (hóng bāo 红包) and a name card. The participation in this exhibition was on invite only and I had the honor to be invited as the only “western” designer together with 50 designers from China.

The monkey motive is due to the fact, that the topic of the exhibition was the year of the monkey (which last was in 2016 -- the exhibition tool place in late 2015). The illustrations on the other envelope are children drawings by my elder daughter Alina who was 4 years old at that time. No monkeys here, though -- just birds, cats, a giraffe and a princess …

The monkey beard and Alina's illustrations are printed with gold leaf.
