Thousands of people are affected by Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a seasonal depression caused by low light levels. SAD is often treated with light therapy, using bulky sterile products that feel out of place at home and at work.

I worked with Neuu, an emotional wellness start-up, to create a new product archetype in SAD therapy that’s friendlier and more convenient than current competing products. Allowing users to take their therapy with them and receive light therapy on their individual terms.

The Neuu lamp CMF (color material finish) was born from the idea that white is a neutral canvas, and color is personal expression.

Every design is a process and the Neuu lamp was no exception, including tons of sketches, virtual prototypes, reviews and broken prototypes.
