The book series is based on the PhD dissertation Study of the Creative Process by Robert Wilson - Estudio del proceso de creación de Robert Wilson (2000) awarded cum laude, and published by Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain.

"Suspended Time Space. Robert Wilson’s Creative Process presents a commented full chronology, extensive documentation, articles about figures such as Heiner Müller and Laurie Anderson. It displays a look at the creative process in the work by Robert Wilson through the three versions of Death Destruction and Detroit during three decades: DDDI (1979) with a technical study of the production, DDDII (1987) with comments by his collaborators, and THE DAYS BEFORE Death Destruction Detroit III (1999) with mostly the journal of the workshops that took place during two Summers at The Watermill Center in New York.
The intention is not to explain what Robert Wilson’s work mean. In the reader and the spectator lie the final conclusions somewhere in the horizon of historic vanguards, the closeness with pioneers of modern theater, and the context of the latest film/media and visual arts. The book also marks distinctive features of style as well as essentials of a powerful and unique aesthetic. (From the total theater in Wagner to the use of space in non-conventional performing arts).
How to lock in a title the essence of such a vast and heterogeneous journey in the arts? (And in life). Now, looking back to the term planetary of the first part of the book series, I think that a word to convey integral/total/global could improve. (There is a documentary film called Absolute Wilson).
From compressed and expanded, I moved into floating (hover, hang, drift, glide, sail, travel, defy gravity. detained (slow down, delay, keep back), and finally suspended (hang, sling, swing). I use detenido in Spanish in reference to slow down movement and suspended in English. Tableau vivant in slow motion as dream-like landscapes of light.” —PEDRO VALIENTE
