Original Stamp
Sometimes taking the time to do every detail within a design makes the appreciation of the artwork even more enjoyable. I had wanted to create something that was a modern/cartoon-twist of Dia de Los Muertos (AKA: Day of the Dead), which is a Mexican holiday celebrating our ancestors. I had chosen to use simple shapes, colors, and textures to add life and power to my skeleton head stamp! After all, Viva la Mexico!
-Design Details: I was given a linoleum stamp to use to carve. I had designed an icon in Adobe Illustrator and then freehand drew the image on the linoleum. I carved it with an exacto knife, cleaned up the edges, and then used ink to stamp the image. I also tore up some paper to give it an artistic edge and photographed my own images. I finalized by editing the RAW images in photoshop.
