Pillow Talk // exhibition

'Pillow Talk' was my solo exhibition at 36 Mountains Studio in Zagreb.

Every night I tell you all about my doubts. What has been bothering me, who’s my latest crush, what I’m doing and how I don’t like the monotony in which I got stuck. I’m telling you how the day has been wonderful, how sometimes I enjoy the gray, shitty weather that no one likes, how I enjoyed the walk at Jelenovac or how the hike to Sljeme has fulfilled me. I confide you all of my dilemmas – I’m in such a strange period, I have no idea what to do with myself. Maybe I should travel somewhere or start to train something…do something unexpected. Something that will shake me up. I miss the old ‘me’ – who needed less calculation to make a crazy decision. Afterwards I tell you some forgotten love stories – about the cereal shop, the orchestra of frogs and the game in which the crocodile cannot bite off your foot, crying on the bicycle, fireworks at the beach –  and the feeling of happiness washes me all over.

Because – you’re always here for me. You tell me that I worry too much about the existential questions. That it’s not too important if I’m able to conceptualize all of my works (who reads these explanations in the end). I should fool around more and think less. Experiment, be curious and make  lots of try-outs – without expectations. Enjoy the moment. Go with the flow. Although I heard that phrase a hundred times, and sometimes it annoys me so much, I admit: “I know you’re right.”

And that’s how, each and every night, we do a pillow talk – my pillow and I.
