American mink is a invasive specie causing serious environmental issues in several places of the world. In Spain, it displaces the native mink Mustela lutreola from its natural habitat and in Patagonia it preys endemic and critical species like the Hooded Grebe (Podiceps gallardoi), Torrent duck (Merganetta armata) and more waterfowl birds in rives and lakes.
