Pioneer Playing Cards

Pioneers are a fully custom deck of cards, inside and out. From the distinctive deck seal to the vintage style pips; every detail and line on the tuck, backs, aces, and jokers was painstakingly hand-drawn.
The design is a celebration of the 1893 World's Fair. A 600-acre spectacle that celebrated the pioneering, adventurous and inventive spirit of the still young nation. The aim was for the Pioneers deck to look as though they had been plucked out of the exhibition gift shop in 1893, locked in a vault for over a century, and placed into your hands.
The tuck box is constructed of exquisite laid card, capturing the texture of period-accurate paper and debossed in the right places to add to the tactile quality of the print.
On the back is the lady of the republic, a statue that stood proudly over the exhibition. She stands with a phoenix at her feet (a vintage take on the modern Ellusionist Playing Card Company logo). In her left hand is the flag of the United States - in her right is the lesser-known flag of Chicago.
Also available with the deck for a short time was a custom commemorative coin, the deck has been produced in both a red and blue colour way.
