Value Study - Diptych
Subject: Oliver Sykes (full and scrambled forms)
Media: Acrylic
This 2D Fundamentals assignment was definitely a fantastic example of the way art moves through a page. Providing lines, variance and harmony, combined with form and composition really creates an intriguing design. The objective was to take a source image and cut it into numerous planar shapes of different sizes and varieties and create an entirely new composition with the planar shapes.
The compositional figure I chose for this piece is Oliver Sykes, the vocalist from a favorite band of mine Bring Me The Horizon. Their music has always been inspirational to me and has helped me to push through during rough areas of life.
