May 2013 // After creating my own branding for pop icon Shirley Temple, the concepts were then made into a spatial model. The theme of the exhibition space is to showcase the contrast of Shirley’s smile and optimism with the gloomy depression. The space would combine historical learning with a bit of play. With life size Shirley silhouettes to pop your face into and mirrors to practice your smile, as the visitor you have the ability to be the life of the depression. Then a small theater area would fill the space with Shirley’s happy tunes, and a wall length timeline compares Shirley’s life accomplishments with the events of the depression.
