This is one of my favorite paintings that I have made. It was made when I was in Basic Design 2 at Lewis and Clark Community College. It was made using a triad color scheme with the secondary colors. I made different shades and tints of the colors orange, purple, and green.
This is taken while working on this project in class.
Here is an up close picture of one of the elephants. There are shadows and highlights. There is a lot of texture in this painting. I used a lot of strokes and a lot of different shades of these three colors.
The different colors in this section show a good depth of field, especially with the shape of the tusks.
Another close up of the left elephant. You can see the multitude of brush strokes throughout the painting.
For the grass in this painting, I used a dry thick brush and dabbed paint and then dabbed repeatedly to create the grass texture.
