Ceramic Seed pods

These Ceramic vessels have been created in Terracotta clay and have been fired to 1060 degrees centigrade.
As parts of these vessels are burnished to give a high sheen this temperature is quite high however with the use of beeswax to polish surface I am happy with the results.  These forms come from Chestnuts as they are breaking out of their shells.
