Known as a life-saver for most designers, instant noodles aka 'Maggi Mee' were our saviour. It accompanied us whenever we burned the midnight oil, satisfied our midnight cravings, and strengthen us to pull through deadlines when we had no time to dish up a proper meal. Just like us designers, it has been through tough times. Yet, what passion does not have its ups and downs?
'The Me You Need' is a self-branding project portraying how I being a designer like 'Maggi Mee'. The Chinese title of the self-promotion-"包你金金有味" is inspired by my Chinese name 金金(Jin Jin), having the same pun with another Chinese word 津津(delicious). It is to convey a message that it will be great relish for employer to hire me. Just like an instant noodles, "The Me You Need" is always comes in a package - problem solver, always ready for new challenge and producing flavourful ideas within limited time given.
To illustrate that I am the one who enhances the flavour of my client's needs, the seasoning powder packet becomes my name card while the noodle packaging becomes my resume to showcase what ingredients as in 'Me'. Lastly, the colour palette is inspired by our well-loved national brand of instant noodles called 'Maggi Mee', which are yellow, red, green and purple.
