MONDRIAN PAVILION is inspired by the architectural philosophy of Piet Mondrian and designed to exhibit sculpture interpretation and textile reproduction of Mondrian paintings. The structural language of the architecture is designed as a response to the linear and planar qualities of a De Stjil painting, while creating 3 dimensional spaces beyond the front plane to enclose the visitor. The sculptures and textiles are staged as inherent elements of the architecture, and use scale, textural qualities and materials to break from the horizontal plane, enabling the viewer to physically engage the art.
