Final logo design for a friend's blog. You can see the various steps I took to get to this point in my "Works in Progress" section. 

 

I started with a very minimalistic, modern approach. This wasn't quite what my friend wanted. She wanted things to be a bit more flowery. She wanted the design to reflect the title of the blog. That's where the mineshaft idea came into play. I showed he a basic image of this design, and she liked the directon it was going in, but she felt it needed more color. I then played around with various color schemes before I arrived with this finished product.
