Scala: Dutch's International Typeface

Scala: Dutch's International Typeface
A poster for a fictional documentary on the typeface Scala created for the 2022 Typography II class at Louisiana Tech University. The assignment focused on how to create and emphasize hierarchy in design by using different fonts and sizes of type.
The title represents the use of Scala by companies and places worldwide. Since Martin Majoor, the designer behind Scala, is from the Netherlands, he is the director of the documentary and the focal point of the poster is the Netherlands overlaid with the country's flag. FontShop is the publisher of the typeface, making it the producer of the documentary, and it stars designers W.A. Dwiggins and Eric Gill and their respective typefaces because their typefaces have been compared to Scala. The features of the documentary are some of the companies or places that have used the typeface.
The type specimen is woven into the border of the Netherlands to integrate the specimen into the focal point of the poster. A blurb about Scala is placed underneath the focal point. The poster designer is myself, and the editors are fellow classmates and the professor who critiqued the poster in the process of creating it.
