Memory Mazes – I labirinti della memoria

Memory Mazes is a photographic archive of the story of 27 household items and pieces of furniture. This project was born unexpectedly because it was designed during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, when I was back at my parents' house, quarantined in my room.
To fulfil the task of creating a photo archive book, I thought that the lack of external stimuli would have been counterproductive for my creative process. I could not be more wrong because that time spent home alone made me consider differently the things I was surrounded by. In particular,
I addressed my attention to the family heirlooms collected in my home. They are simple objects
from the 19th and 20th centuries that belonged to my grandparents and forefathers and that I rediscovered almost by accident. They have been looking at me since ever, but I never looked at them carefully before.
Thanks to the help and memory of my mum, the cataloguing process took the shape
of an organic book where all the objects are displayed through photographs and descriptions,
all enriched by family anecdotes.

The book has been printed in September 2021.

You can read more about it here.
