Showtime’s premiere comedy returns with some changes. With the finanical crisis of 2008/09 receding we determined that getting our actors out of suits and away from the show’s business environment, we’d get a chance to say more about the inner characters and their motivations this season. This shoot proceeded differently than usual. Unbeknownst to us, the cast was already preparing for a live improv version of the show (http://bit.ly/1gnoA5y). Rather than follow our concept boards down to the letter, they brought that methodology to the set and played endlessly with props, taunted each other on set, laughed and played. The results were stunning.

Press Kit
Based loosely on the work of artist Barbara Kruger, the House of Lies Season 3 Press Kit utilizes a series of complex print techniques that required many weeks of planning, mechanicalization and production. All gold is produced by adhering a silver foil to the printed piece. Over that, a process yellow is applied along with subtle four color gradations to dull the gloss and create texture, giving it more premium feel. All b/w shots are actually produced in four color, then covered with a dull aqueous coating. At the same time all spot red was covered with a gloss UV coating, making it reflective. The enlarged dot patterns had to carefully controlled to prevent moiré patterns from appearing on press. The images below show off the quality of the finished product.
