Miguel Cotto had a lot riding on his bout with Austin Trout. Having come off a loss to Floyd Mayweather seven months earlier, all eyes were on him. While the hub of championship boxing in New York is Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, this fight was to take place at New York’s legendary Madison Square Garden. New York became the backdrop for Showtime’s promotional effort. Just months before we launched the Boxing Is Back In Brooklyn campaign so this piece needed to stand apart from that.
