For my book I chose Maya Angelou's poem Still I Rise. The tone of the poem is very uplifting and victorious so I decided to use flowers to symbolize this. I felt that the flowers showed life and beauty and paired perfectly with the hopeful message. I collaged numerous different flowers together and edited the colors to create a sense of unity. Finding a way for the text and pictures to work and flow was often challenging but very fun.
