Project overview

This project entails the creation of a photographic narrative that illustrates an understanding of storytelling. The horizontal layout, consisting of three documentary photos and two fashion photos, need not be literal, but rather abstract; focusing on visual qualities like shape, texture, pattern, colour or tonal values. The chosen photos should thus be edited and curated appropriately.

Deliverables

A photographical narrative comprising of 5 images:
a) 3 greyscale documentary photos
b) 2 greyscale or colour fashion photos

Rationale

This photographic narrative focuses on shape and texture as the main visual qualities. The subtle contrast highlights the shapes and draws the viewer’s attention towards the visible texture on the clothing and rubble. The shifting shapes from one photo to the next guides the viewers eye through the narrative creating a satisfying visual story.
